SKOKIE, IL—AZEK® Building Products, with more than 25 years of manufacturing experience making and marketing premium, low maintenance exterior building products, has announced its recognition as one of 2015’s Top 10 Best Augmented Reality Campaigns according to Rick Mathieson’s GenWow® Awards. The AZEK Augmented Reality Home Improvement iPad App was listed at number 10 on the list, alongside top brands including Snickers, Microsoft, Universal Studios, Lexus and Toys ‘R Us.

The GenWow awards highlight brands for standing out with forward-thinking technology applications. GenWow sought out innovative virtual reality branding campaigns, and AZEK was one of the brands visibly going above and beyond in the space. GenWow applauded the fact that the app is being used by many contractors who install AZEK products and is accumulating 1,000 new downloads a month.

“The AZEK iPad app has been a huge hit since it debuted, and we have continued to see additional fans and users as we evolve the app,” said Teresa Arnold, Senior Director, Digital Marketing at CPG Building Products. “Our sales reps see the value in visual commerce as a sales tool and the contractors love using the 3D visualizer with customers when working on projects.”

The free AZEK iPad App, developed by Augmented Reality (AR) expert Marxent Labs, makes it easier than ever for homeowners and contractors to see AZEK trim, deck, rail, porch, siding and paver products on a home in realistic 2D and 3D views. After exploring a variety of 2D scenes, the user can enter the world of cutting-edge 3D technology to personalize the house, rotate it 360 degrees, change product colors and then zoom in to make sure it’s perfectly designed, making it easy to imagine special family moments on the front porch, back deck, or even on the paver driveway or pathway.

Marxent’s VisualCommerce™ technology powers the AZEK App, making it possible for homeowners to visualize their design choices before buying. VisualCommerce replaces the need for showrooms and samples, enormously simplifying the process for both consumers and retailers. Beck Besecker, co-founder and CEO at Marxent, said the company’s technology perfectly delivers a realistic rendering for AZEK’s contractors and the homeowners they are working with.

“As a manufacturer with a vast catalog of products full of colors, styles and other options that are challenging to configure and visualize, our 3D visualization technology enables the AZEK home improvement iPad app to bring all the design possibilities to life for consumers contemplating big home improvement projects,” said Besecker. “Design experiences in virtual and augmented reality from this app are bringing the future to shoppers making big design decisions now.”
