SKOKIE, IL— It may not be your typical impulse buy, but when a Glen Mills, Pennsylvania couple purchased a new hot tub, they decided to replace their aging deck along with it! The existing deck was a composite material that was approximately 15 years old and showing definite signs of age, including mold growth. They decided to showcase the new hot tub within a more advanced decking material that offered the look of interior flooring.
“The old deck had reached the end of its useful life,” explains contractor Brian Hunter of DeckPro in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. The homeowners bought the hot tub from Hunter and discussed repairing the existing deck as a quick fix versus replacing it.
