This Is TimberTech
It's more than a deck. It's a better way to be. Building with TimberTech means the most technologically-advanced materials and the most design options for a more enjoyable, longer-lasting outdoor space.
Originally built between 1906 and 1908, the porch on this lovely Oregon farmhouse needed a 21st century update. The wet climate in the Northwest had taken its toll, causing dry rot in the porch and creating a need for full replacement. The homeowners hired independent contractor Ray Carter to give them a porch that could stand up to local weather while complementing the historical character of the property.
The homeowners showed Ray a picture they’d found of what they wanted their finished porch to look like. “They were set on using composite boards,” Ray said. They wanted to ensure their front porch would be a comfy place to sit for a long time. But they didn’t want to use 5” width decking boards. Ray said, “They wanted to keep the boards in the same size as the original porch installation.” Needing 3⅛” composite porch boards that matched the look from the picture, Ray chose TimberTech. The boards were the desired width and kept the look of premium hardwood intact. The dry rot problem was solved and the porch would stand up to Oregon weather. TimberTech also had the railing style of capped pedestals that the homeowners wanted. “I used TimberTech (AZEK) for my own porch,” Ray said, so he felt confident that he was giving the homeowners exactly what they wanted in their new porch: elegance and endurance.
