SKOKIE, IL— When consumers are creating their outdoor living spaces, they consistently turn to TimberTech® for the hottest trends, styles and colors available in decking. The premier maker of low-maintenance, high quality and durable building products has always worked to stay ahead of both consumer and industry trends, positioning the brand at the forefront of the booming decking industry.
To help homeowners make the most of their decks and ensure that its product line is stocked with the most up-to-date trends, TimberTech teamed up with industry experts George Gehringer and Karen Pearlstein of Metaphor LLC, a design consultancy studio and manufacturer of architectural planters and outdoor décor, to reveal the top decorating styles for 2016.
Below, TimberTech and Gehringer identify the most popular decking trends seen across the country in 2016:
- Updated Traditional: This trend combines a modern and experimental mix of materials with a classic taste. Updated traditional decks tend to feature warm and inviting color palettes that also highlight white in the design.
- Casual Contemporary: The casual contemporary trend is the fastest growing segment in the decking industry. These designs are true outdoor rooms and extensions of the home, incorporating indoor-inspired lighting, rugs, extensive seating areas and TVs.
- Country Rustic Americana: The most prominent features of this trend are the look of hand-scraped wood and flooring that mirrors indoor hardwood floors. Accented by smaller scale floral prints, stripes, plaids, corduroys and homespun linens, country rustic decks are more complex than other trends when it comes to color and texture.
- Eclectic and Artisanal: This trend is especially popular among Gen X and Millennial consumers. Eclectic and artisanal decks are more about art than matching patterns—the design is more personal to the homeowner and often features a mixtures of styles.
“At TimberTech, we pride ourselves on staying atop the hottest trends while also providing homeowners with the toughest decking product in the industry. Our top-tier line of durable products come in a wide variety of colors, textures and looks, helping homeowners create an outdoor space that best suits their individual style,” said Julia Fitzgerald, TimberTech’s chief marketing officer. “With so many options to choose from that offer numerous benefits over wood decking – like resistance to mold, mildew, stains, scratches and harsh weather – homeowners don’t have to concern themselves with continued maintenance or staining.”
TimberTech’s capped wood composite decking comes with a 25-year fade-and-stain limited warranty and a 25-year limited product warranty, ensuring that TimberTech Decks can be enjoyed for years to come even as homeowners’ decorating styles and furniture change with the times.
