A heavy-duty, flexible, all-weather flashing and joist tape that helps extend the life of decking substructures by preventing water penetration and protecting joist lumber from rot.

Superior Sealing

Keeps water out by providing a superior seal around screws at the fastening site. Won’t bunch, bind, or tear during screw driving.

Heavy-Duty Use

This tape’s strong backing won’t tear easily, even when walking on or dragging boards across the joist.


The butyl adhesive provides an advanced, secure bond to joists that won’t peel off.


Use in all weather conditions; rated for use in temperatures from -70°F to 200°F.

Available Widths (Black)

1.625” for single joists (16 rolls x 65’ length)
2.5” for single joists (10 rolls x 65’ length)
3.25” for double beams (8 rolls x 65’ length)
4” for general flashing (6 rolls x 65’ length)
12” for general flashing (4 rolls x 25’ length)

Also available in 36-case pallets, with the exception of 12” tape

Tape Construction

• Adhesive: Butyl Rubber (20 mils)
• Liner: PET (2 mils)
• Backing: TPO (6.5 mils)
• Total Thickness: 28.5 mils (+/- 2 mils)


Select a tape width that allows for overhang on each side and apply to the top of a joist or beam using firm pressure (preferably with a hand roller) to ensure adequate adhesion. It’s best to apply this tape to clean, dry lumber.

What temperatures are rated for use?

PRO-Tac is rated for application temperatures from 20°F to 170°F and service temperatures from -70°F to 200°F. It’s best to apply this tape to clean, dry lumber.

What material is PRO-Tac tape?

PRO-Tac is a self-adhesive Butyl Tape with PET Liner.

What about double joists?

PRO-Tac is offered in five widths to accommodate a variety of applications. Use 1.625” or 2.5” tape for single joists, 3.25” tape for double beams, and for general flashing, use 4” or 12” wide tape.
