What is included in a railing kit vs. what I need to order separately?

Reliance Rail™ makes installation simple. Here's the breakdown.

Included in a Reliance Rail kit:

Top rail, Bottom rail, Aluminum support rail, Balusters, Hardware, Foot-block, and Plugs

Both level and stair kits come with these components, available with Square Vinyl or Round Aluminum balusters.

Ordered separately:

Posts, post sleeves, post caps, and skirts (including 4"x4" vinyl post sleeve kits in 39" and 54", plus Flat, Low Profile, and New England caps)

Bracket kits (Contour and Core level/stair kits, plus 45° and 22° adapter kits)

Gate kit, hinge, and latch

What range of stair angles can the system accommodate?

Reliance Rail™ handles stair runs with dedicated stair kits and bracket adapters that adjust for slope. The Contour bracket adapters are available in two common angles:

What are the actual lengths of the Reliance Rail systems? Is the measurement from inside of post to inside of post or center of post to center of post?

Reliance Rail™ comes in four panel sizes to fit a range of layouts:

4 feet

6 feet

8 feet

10 feet (available in 36" height)

These are nominal sizes, and the finished, installed length will differ slightly once posts and brackets are factored in. The rail sections ship at full actual length (72” and 96”, respectively). While the product can be cut down to custom lengths, the system is designed to fit the respective lengths measured between posts (inside of post to inside of post).

What heights are available for Reliance Rail?

Reliance Rail™ comes in two heights to match your design and local code. Both Core Series and Contour Series come in:

Is Drink Rail compatible with Reliance Rail?

Yes, with one key detail. Drink Rail works specifically with the Reliance Rail™ Core Series, paired with the Drink Rail Clip Kit and full-profile, square-shouldered deck boards. It gives you a wide, flat surface, perfect for setting down a drink or a plate while you take in the view.

A few things to know before you choose it:

Compatible: Core Series with the Drink Rail Clip Kit

Not compatible: Contour Series

Boards: Requires full-profile, square-shouldered deck boards

If Drink Rail is your goal, plan on the Core Series from the start. Your dealer or contractor can help you confirm the right combination for your deck boards.

Which decking collections are compatible with Reliance Rail?

Good news: Reliance Rail™ pairs with every TimberTech Decking collection. Whether you're building with Advanced PVC or composite boards, this premium vinyl railing works with your deck.

Reliance Rail™ is often paired with the Vintage Collection in Mahogany, a rich, warm combination that lets the decking's real wood look take center stage.

Which lighting options are compatible with Reliance Rail?

Reliance Rail™ can be paired with TimberTech deck and rail lighting to add ambiance and help improve visibility after dark.

Can Reliance Rail be used near water? Near salt water?

Yes. Reliance Rail™ is crafted from durable, high-grade premium vinyl, a low-maintenance material that's a smart fit for waterfront settings like lakefronts and poolside.

For salt-water and coastal projects, a few smart steps go a long way:

- Always check local code requirements for coastal applications

- Use corrosion-resistant hardware suited to salt air and spray

- Keep in mind that the TimberTech Limited Warranty does not cover exposure to corrosive elements
