Bending Backyard Escape
The Minnesota homeowners of this fresh build loved their new home — but they were less enthusiastic about the similar-looking decks punctuating the sea of adjoining backyards in their development. The pair knew they wanted to add a premium-performance outdoor living space to their yard but didn’t want to downplay their unique style. Fortunately, contractor Mark King of Infinite Decks was available to make their deck dreams come true.
King, who specializes in curved decks for a one-of-a-kind look, uses only TimberTech® Advanced PVC decking products due to their outstanding performance, beauty, and malleability. The capped polymer material makeup means that otherwise detrimental elements like weathering and moisture don’t stand a chance.
For this family, King opted to combine truly statement-making designs: two circular dining areas, a mix of straight and diagonal inlays, and a dimensional picture frame perimeter composed of narrow- and wide-width deck boards. Along the deck’s perimeter, he used crisp white and weather-ready AZEK® Trim and Moulding as fascia — attractively mirroring the trim of the home’s exterior while complementing the modern gray hues of TimberTech Advanced PVC in Coastline® and Island Oak™ from the Vintage Collection® and Arbor Collection, respectively.
The final product is a coolly curving outdoor living space guaranteed to be the talk of the neighborhood.
