WILMINGTON, OH— Cincinnati has a rich legacy of world class tennis at the Lindner Family Tennis Center and now, local decking manufacturer TimberTech has a legacy of its own at the popular 2014 Western & Southern (W&S) Open, running now through August 17th. At this year’s event, TimberTech unveiled a new “Legacy Collection” deck in a color called Tigerwood at the Moet & Chandon Champagne Bar on the east side outside of Center Court.
The inviting Moet & Chandon Champagne bar motif features black and white striped cushions and table stands that look like champagne flutes with clear acrylic stools. The elegant Tigerwood deck is complemented by a TimberTech Evolutions Contemporary Rail in sleek black, with stainless steel cable infill to provide great views of the stadium action.
Part of the Legacy Collection from TimberTech’s Earthwood Evolutions line of low-maintenance decking, Tigerwood features a protective polymer cap surrounding the board. The Legacy Collection is the first decking option to bring the popular hand-scraped look of indoor flooring to the outdoors. One of three realistic color options, Tigerwood has a unique look that blends light and dark shades within the same board to closely emulate the natural tones of tropical rainforest hardwoods.
This is the second TimberTech Deck in the tennis complex, with the first one built last year next to the practice courts. With 27 singles matches and 10 doubles matches scheduled, there is plenty of action this week with top-ranked players and Grand Slam champions from around the world taking the courts such as Roger Federer, Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic. The Lindner Family Tennis Center will also feature live music, celebrity chef cooking demonstrations and fashion shows and the event will be broadcast live on ESPN 2 throughout the tournament.
Starting out as The Cincinnati Open in 1899, The W&S Open is one of the oldest tournaments in the U.S. still played in its original city and hundreds of world class players have graced its courts during the past century. Now, world class decking from TimberTech is part of Cincinnati’s historic tennis venue. To learn more about TimberTech’s Legacy Collection, visit www.timbertech.com.
